A UNESCO survey finds the number of researchers in developing countries increased by 45% from 2002 to 2007. (The number of researchers in developed countries increased by 9% during the same period.) That's a million additional researchers in just five years. Will toll-access publishing provide them the access they need to contribute to global science and local development?

I recommend the OA tracking project (OATP) as the best way to stay on top of new OA developments. You can read the OATP feed on a blog-like web page or subscribe to it by RSS, email, or Twitter. You can also help build the feed by tagging new developments you encounter.
