The Gates Foundation has given this year's Access to Learning Award, a $1 million prize, to Nepal’s Rural Education and Development (READ) program "for its pioneering approach to providing no-cost public access to computers and the Internet to residents, and its commitment to promoting information and literacy." I recommend the OA tracking project (OATP) as the best way to stay on top of new OA developments. You can read the OATP feed on a blog-like web page or subscribe to it by RSS, email, or Twitter. You can also help build the feed by tagging new developments you encounter.
