The goal is to present a short history and statistics (in appendices) allowing an estimate of how important initiatives like Open Access are for the visibility of a research institute. It should also be noted that the IJN was the first French laboratory in Social and Human Sciences to adopt an institutional policy of providing free online access to its scientific output.'
