Double Renewal for Residence Halls
Monday - March 7, 2011 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Tuesday - March 8, 2011 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Wednesday - March 9, 2011 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Both students will come together to see their Area Director. At that time, each student will complete and sign a new housing contract for the current room and specify the meal plan they wish to subscribe to for the upcoming year.
In the event that one resident of a room is planning to leave or change rooms, the remaining resident may request another student be pulled into the room. The returning resident and new resident will see the Area Director to complete and sign a new housing contract. The non-returning resident will also need to complete a release card - this can be done at the same time or prior to the roommate's renewal request. The release card will indicate the roommate's intent to release their claim on the specified space.
Current roommates must reach agreement as to which individual will keep the room for the next academic year. If agreement cannot be reached between the roommates, neither roommate will be eligible for renewal of the current room and must participate in the general room selection. If agreement is reached, the roommates would follow steps outlined above in "Renewals where a new roommate is requested".
In order to "squat" a current room, it must be filled to capacity by two students. Unfortunately, we are not able to honor a renewal request that would create a half-filled room.
