Automatic Exemption Form

Automatic Exemptions are available for students who meet at least one of the following criteria:

Exemption Status

Documentation Required

Married students (not eligible for College housing)

Copy of marriage certificate

Students who have dependent children residing with them (not eligible for College housing)

Copy of birth certificate or adoption paperwork

Students who live with their parent(s)/guardian(s) throughout the academic year and commute to classes from within a reasonable distance (see policy for details)

Letter from parent/guardian supporting request

Students who will turn 23 years of age prior to August 24, 2011

Indicate status on application form, no additional documentation required

Students who are officially registered as “part-time” or “special status” as determined by the Registrar

Letter or documentation from the Office of the Registrar indicating status

Veterans

Copy of DD214

The deadline for students who meet eligibility for automatic exemption to request an exemption is March 1, 2011, all supporting documentation should be submitted to the Office of Residence Life. Students will receive notice of their status by March 7, 2011.
