Malcolm Read, Executive Secretary of JISC, has been made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his 16 years at JISC, including his leadership on OA. From today's press release:
...Malcolm is strongly involved in driving policy and strategy development in the use of digital technology in post-16 education and research. His work at JISC has involved setting-up and supporting infrastructure provision and innovation programmes. He also has a strong interest in the cultural aspects of deploying ICT and promoting access to open research, education resources and the development of open innovation....

I recommend the OA tracking project (OATP) as the best way to stay on top of new OA developments. You can read the OATP feed on a blog-like web page or subscribe to it by RSS, email, or Twitter. You can also help build the feed by tagging new developments you encounter.
