How to Find Peer-Reviewed Literature

Use this database to find peer-reviewed literature on your topic.

It indexes and abstracts worldwide literature on geology and geophysics, 1785 to present. GeoRef includes journal articles, monographs, government documents, conference proceedings and maps.

Use a directory
These web pages have links to sites arranged by subject. A human being was involved in making these lists so some of the work of hunting for sites has already been done for you. Many of the sites listed on this page are directories.
Use a search engine such as Google
These locate sites that contain the keywords you provide. They all retrieve data in different ways, so please read the help screens. They are good for finding known pages and specific pieces of information -- such a specific volcano or a specific flood event.
