Introductory Assignment
Intercultural Communication
Fall 2004

Please take a few minutes to describe yourself to me in one paragraph. Include your cultural background, whether or not you feel a strong sense of cultural ties, or lack thereof. What have been the strongest influences on you in terms of developing your values, your sense of self and how you fit into the world around you?

In a second paragraph, please elaborate a little bit about your personal experience with cultural differences. Include here what you hope to get out of this class in terms of developing skills of interacting with others. This is where you have a chance to tell me what you want to get most out of this class, so please feel free to share your thoughts in detail.

E-mail this assignment to me (morrike@earlham.edu) and Tanyel at cemalta@earlham.edu so that we may both have a better understanding of how we can approach this class this semester.
