Make sure you are logged in with your own username (Start —>
Log Off —> new username) so that you can save files to own
Home folder.
Start up Photoshop Elements.
- Choose File —> Import —> Epson TWAIN 5
In the bottom window you will see:
To cancel scanning in Full Auto mode and switch to manual
mode, click Cancel.
- You want manual mode — so Click Cancel
- Click Manual Mode
You will see this control panel:
Click Preview button.
- Use crosshair to select the area to scan
- Click the Zoom button (the righmost of the Preview buttons) to
zoom in to the selected area and make adjustments.
Set the resolution to 96 dpi to use the graphic on the web (why is
this?) or 150 dpi if you want to print the graphic.
Click on the "Auto" button to change contrast and check "unsharp
mask" to sharpen up the image.
Click the Scan button to scan. The image will appear behind the TWAIN
window.
You can scan more images at this point.
Click the Close button when finished.
Save each file in Photoshop format (.psd) to a folder on your Home
drive (eg H:\photos)
Close Photoshop
- Log out (Start —> Log Out)
