| A rich aunt, Miss Stevens of Stevens Green in Dublin Ireland, brought Deborah back to Ireland in about 1787 and reunited her with her brother. Later, Deborah married Miss Stevens' secretary, who had taken the name Stevens. he was also a Quaker "Their union was consummated in the days of Emmett and Rowan, a time of great discord in Dublin. they withdrew to Wexford, where Miss Stevens provided them with a house filled with every comfort." Her husband was later imprisoned for treason; Deborah managed to help him escape and they sailed to America, living in Philadelphia, PA where he died. Deborah remarried but died leaving two children, the younger of whom went to China. |
