The Meeting for Suffering have appointed a kind of Emigration committee to endeavour to aid in Removing the people of colour I was appointed by said committee to Write to Friends of your Quarter and let you know that our Funds have been Greatfully augmented, Viz 3000 Philadelphia yearly meeting 400 New York 350 Ohio, our own 2000 making about 5, 800 and as R. Gurley writes that a Vefsel or Vesfsels will sail to the ensuring fall for Liberia, we think that no time should be lost in preparing the Blacks we would like to hear from you pretty often and whether it will be necefsary for any person to afsist you from here & c it behooves us to exert ourselves as there are no fleets on the ocean now, and the way may be shut up: if there is any thing we can do, please to let us know it, in order that the work be at least going on in the Day time--Thy Friends are well here about and the line I had from thee was very acceptable, respecting the Doris I wish I could as good news Respecting the Norfolk as she was chartered by the U. S. to take out re captured Africans now in Georgia she calld at norfolk to receive Some Emigrants for us but the Notice was so Short I fear none will be got off I am with Esteem thy Friend
