Registration/Payment: Each registrant will need to fill out and submit a separate registration form. Payment can be made via credit card (a separate transaction for each registrant is required) or by check/postal service mail.
When registering please respond to all the relevant request boxes (transportation needs, dietary needs, childcare needs, roommate preference (if any), college/organization affiliation, etc. so that conference organizers can adequately plan for your arrival.
Registration: Registration will be in the Atkins Student Union (see map below). The Union parking on the east side of the Union is available for conference attendees to park their vehicles. Register Now
Housing Info
Housing will be in what we call the Twin Towers--the newest housing units on campus. Twin Towers has eight suites (each with 8 rooms on two floors); each suite includes a community room with a kitchenette area. Rooms on each floor share a bathroom. Please note: no elevator is available to the second floor. Should negotiating stairs be a problem, indicate on the registration form a request for a ground floor room. Pillow, linens, a blanket and wash/bath towels will be provided. The rooms are air conditioned. Internet service in the residence hall requires an ethernet cable.
Meals: Conference meals run from Wednesday night dinner through Sunday Lunch (box meals available for those who must leave early). Those with special dietary needs may give indication of such on the registration form. Individual meal prices are: $5.38 breakfast; $7.53 lunch; $9.68 dinner.
Ground Travel information: Oskaloosa is about one hour from the intersection of I-80 and I-35 (Des Moines). A map of Oskaloosa and surrounding area can be obtained from the registration page
Airport Shuttle from Des Moines Airport (DSM) to Oskaloosa
The airport is about a one hour drive from Oskaloosa; WPU buses/vans will be available to take you to Oskaloosa and the campus. A William Penn representative will be available in the baggage claim area to direct you to boarding the bus/van. Shuttles will run Wednesday afternoon June 16 and Sunday June 20 late morning/afternoon.
Please indicate your need for shuttle transportation on the registration form. The cost is $15 one-way, paid at the time of service. Those indicating need for shuttle transportation will be contacted via email about two weeks prior to the conference for specific arrival/departure times.
Weather/Clothing
Daytime highs range in June from the mid to upper 80‘s; evening cools down to the mid 60‘s and low 70’s.
Computers/Internet Service
There are public computers in Wilcox Library (available during library hours) and the Atkins Student Union Lounge (available 7:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m.) Wireless internet service is widely available on campus including the buildings involved in the conference (excluding the residence hall which requires ethernet hookup).
Recreation/Exercise: The Penn Activity Center houses a full complement of exercise equipment, an indoor track, two basketball courts and almost 50 yards of indoor turf. Swimming is available at the local YMCA (about a 20 minute walk from campus). Access to a paved bike/walking path that encircles Oskaloosa is within a few minutes of campus.
