Just in time for Halloween, EFS brings Beetlejuice, Tim Burton's classic comedic fantasy about a recently-deceased married couple trying to cope with their sudden plunge into the afterlife. Finding that their house has been occupied by a detestable family of snobby poseurs, the ghostly couple attempts to use their newfound, netherworldly abilities to reclaim their home. When things don't go as planned, enter Betelgeuse, a ghoulish, self-proclaimed "bio-exorcist" who vows to get rid of the human pests. Soon, however, the deceased couple befriends the snobs' misfit teenage daughter, thereby complicating matters even further.

This is a fun and fanciful movie that was well received when it debuted in the '80s, and now it has become something of a cult-classic. Colorful and appropriately cartoonish performances help to propel the film, as does a masterful musical score by the always-outstanding Danny Elfman. Nevertheless, the key name in the credits is that of the director: Tim Burton. Unparalleled in his uniqueness of style and vision, Burton describes his film as "a comic version of The Exorcist...from the dead people's point of view." Both humorously bizarre and frightfully imaginative, Beetlejuice is, indeed, every inch a Tim Burton feature.
