Jill Butcher is a 1980 graduate of Indiana State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in health and physical education with a minor in mathematics. Throughout Butcher’s time as an undergraduate, she was a starter for the Sycamore field hockey team.
Butcher received a Master of Science degree in 1985 and earned a second master’s degree from Ball State University in 2003. She has been honored twice by the NCAC as Coach of the Year. In 2002, Butcher was named a Sports Ethic Fellow along with famous sports figures Lance Armstrong and Marion Jones.
She served as the chair of the NCAC Field Hockey Coaches Committee from 2005-07, and she is also Earlham’s associate athletic director.
