First half goals too much for Quakers in 2-1 loss

GAMBIER, Ohio — A pair of first half goals was too much for the Earlham College men’s soccer team to overcome on Saturday as Kenyon College defeated the Quakers 2-1 in a North Coast Athletic Conference contest.

Earlham’s goal came in the second period on a corner kick at 55:56. Sophomore Zac Schmitz (Cincinnati, OH/Sycamore) scored with an assist from junior Atiq Zamani (Bloomington, IN/North).

Junior goalkeeper Jon O’Neil (West Lafayette, IN/West Lafayette) had six saves for the Quakers.

The Quakers (4-10-2, 1-4-2) entertain Denison University Tuesday. The NCAC match gets underway at 3 p.m. on Matlack Field. Box score
