Hunter leads Quakers to victory in NCAC contest

RICHMOND, Ind. —
Senior Kevin Hunter’s first half goal held up for the Earlham College
men’s soccer team Tuesday as the Quakers defeated North Coast Athletic
Conference foe Wabash College 1-0 on Matlack Field.
Hunter (Hillsborough,
NC/C.E. Jordan) found the net at 24:52 for his first goal of
the season. “We did
a good job of playing our game,” Earlham coach Roy Messer said.
The Quakers
and Little Giants were deadlocked 12-12 on shots. Earlham junior goalkeeper
Jon O’Neil (West Lafayette, IN/West
Lafayette) had five saves with all of them coming in the second
half as Wabash (5-9, 2-2) had eight of its shot attempts.
Earlham (4-9, 1-3)
entertains Hiram College Saturday. The NCAC contest is at 2 p.m. after
the Earlham-Hiram women’s soccer match that starts at noon. Box
