Welcome to the Provost's Office

Provost Nelson Bingham oversees several key aspects of the College, including responsibilities related to administration, student life and academics.

Administration

The Provost works closely with the President, filling in for him as needed and providing support and advice. Nelson convenes College Conference, a bimonthly gathering of administrative faculty and the Clerk of the Faculty to discuss the College's Key Initiatives as addressed in the Gazette. Nelson is a key part of coordinating and facilitating Senior Leadership, a weekly meeting of Senior Administrators. He also oversees the Office of Institutional Research and works closely with campus planning.

The Provost also oversees the Administrative Review process.

Student Life

Nelson oversees student success efforts led by Associate Dean for Student Success Wendy Seligmann. He takes an active part in the campus religious life programs, Campus Ministries and the Newlin Center for Quaker Thought and Practice.

Academics

As Provost, Nelson oversees academic aspects of Earlham, such as our Graduate Programs in Education and the Plowshares Project.
