Strategic Planning 2001/2002 Earlham College

Strategic Planning > Letter Requesting your Participation

President Doug Bennett and the Strategic Planning Committee need your input into the Strategic Planning process by December 1. See the full request letter here:

(This is a PDF document and Adobe Acrobat is required -- Link to Download Acrobat Reader)

Excerpts of the letter follow:

We invite you to write us a letter addressing any or all of the following:

(1) What do you believe have been or are today the most important strengths of Earlham -- strengths we want to appreciate and sustain?

(2) What do you believe are the most important changes in the world around us that we need to take into account --changes, for example, in our students, in strategies for learning and teaching, or in the resources we may be able to draw upon?

(3) What do you believe are the most important efforts we should make to strengthen current programs or practices?

(4) Are there new programs or practices we should initiate?

We invite you to write us in response to any of these questions, or all four, or frame and answer your own question. We simply ask you to write us about your views regarding what Earlham College needs to understand about itself and the world around us today, and what it needs to do in order to be as effective a college as we can be. What should we take as our foundations? And what should we be building upon those foundations?

We’d be happy to receive quite brief responses as well as longer ones. We are not going to grade them and will be grateful for any response you care to send. Please do mention your relationship(s) to Earlham: Student (class of?), faculty, staff, alumna/us (class of?), parent (class of?), etc. You can mail these responses to:

Strategic Planning Committee
Office of the President
Drawer 191
Earlham College
Richmond IN 47374

Or you can send e-mail to planning@earlham.edu

These letters will be most helpful in our process if we receive them by December 1.
