Dear brother

Thou hast often Received communications from us when they have had the signature of our dear father, which could not be other than pleasant, but as there can be none with his own I shall be under the necessity of affixing mine, although they will be such a vow (may I not say blank) that thou will hardley know how to take time to give them a Reading. I feel in an undone situation, probably none feel it more sensibly (save my dear Mother) than myself, but I hope to be Sustained by Him who is able to build up but O how imbsile I feel As thou hast long ere this Received the unpleasant inteligence of his departure, it will not be needful for me to say much more about it. it seems that I must take the businefs in hand at some period not far distant, and if I do I must try to be prepared, and it will be necefsary for me to have a true Statement of the amount of money each legatee has received, in order that I may make out an inventory suitable to return to Court-thirefore please send me a correct Statement of the money thats been sent thee since thou left here, if thou hast had any--I find no Statement of it on his Bo[o]ks [Inpret?] thee will have to come and see us once more & let us behold thy countenance with pleasure again though it may be more convenient for me to be more presise about that at some subsequent time
