Dear Students,

On behalf of the President of Earlham College, Doug Bennett, the staff, teaching and administrative faculty, we extend a warm welcome to the class of 2014, our new transfer students and our returning students. 

The 2010-11 Student Handbook and Planner is an educational resource that includes policies, procedures, descriptions of student organizations, college offices and phone numbers. The Handbook is organized around five co-curricular learning goals which are designed to shape your out-of-classroom experiences:
  1. Living in Community
  2. Faith, Service and Vocation
  3. Initiative and Leadership
  4. Wellness and Athletics
  5. Diversity and Difference

We encourage you to examine the descriptions of the student organizations and become involved in the campus community.  First year students received the book, Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and we encourage all students to attend the Convocation by the author on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in Goddard Auditorium.

We want you to be part of the Earlham College family and make the campus your home away from home. Principles and Practices (P&P) is Earlham’s foundational statement of our values, beliefs and out expectations of how we live in community. Please read become familiar with P&P.
