Emergency Preparedness — Everyone Has a Part
In an emergency* you will be instructed by the
Earlham Urgency Network to "evacuate" or "shelter within." This
system will send notification to every contact method you have listed
on your Banner self-service emergency notification page, including sending
notification by cellular phone and text messaging. For more information,
visit the What
to Expect in an Emergency or Crisis Web page.
Evacuate means:
Leave your building or area to a location
a minimum of 1,000 feet away and remain in that location until you have
been accounted for by Campus Safety and Security.
Shelter within means:
Move to an area of your building with
no windows or glass and wait for an "all clear" from Campus Safety
and Security.
